Minerals Species: Titanite var. Sphene in Quartz.
Location of mineral deposit: Tavetsch, Graubunden, Switzerland.
Description: Large plate with doubly-terminated quartz crystals up to 4 cm long and translucent titanite, variety sphene, crystals up to 5 mm. Many of the titanites are twinned. With original Bement label and copy of the museum catalog card. See R.M., v.43, #12. No damage. Ex. Dr. E. Sensel collection #BL915, ex. Bement collection, American Museum of Natural History (NY).
Overall size of mineral specimen: 17x8x5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 3-40 mm.
