Minerals Species: Quartz var. Amethyst Quartz.
Location of mineral deposit: Balkhash Lake, near Preozersk, Karaganda Oblast, Kazakhstan.
Description: Transparent purple amethyst quartz crystal on thin plate of gray matrix coated with quartz microcrystals. The amethyst crystal has deepest purple color in the center of the termination. All surfaces and edges are clean and undamaged, but one corner has a natural contact from another intersecting crystal (no longer present).
Overall size of mineral specimen: 30x30x15 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 21 mm.
Price: $20 (plus shipping).
