Minerals Species: Hematite on Quartz and Calcite.
Location of mineral deposit: Prospect Park Quarry, Haledon, Passaic County, New Jersey.
Description: Elongated plate of colorless quartz and calcite crystal. Scattered throughout are hemispheric rosettes .6 mm diameter of black hematite crystals. Hematite is uncommon as crystals in the New Jersey zeolite pockets. From my personal collection.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 6x3.5x2 cm.
Size of individual crystals: .2-8 mm.
Price: $28 (plus shipping).
