Minerals Species: Quartz var. Amethyst.
Location of mineral deposit: Piedras Parado, Municipio de Tatatila (formerly Las Vigas), Veracruz, Mexico.
Description: Many transparent medium-purple amethyst quartz crystals up to 40 mm long on an irregular plate of translucent gray calcite crystals up to 3 mm. Several of the amethyst crystals are doubly-terminated. No damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 9x5x3.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-4 cm.
Price: $165 (plus shipping).
