Minerals Species: Pyrargyrite var. Ruby Silver.
Location of mineral deposit: Mina Santo Niño, Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico.
Description: Large single pyrargyrite crystal with convex termination and striated prism faces. Another partial crystal is attached to one side. With strong rear-illumination it shows translucent red color (the miners called this mineral ruby-silver ore). No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 3.5x2x1.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 15-22 mm.
Price: $95 (plus shipping).
