Minerals Species: Quartz var. Amethyst.
Location of mineral deposit: Reel Mine, Iron Station, Lincoln County, North Carolina.
Description: Lustrous dark purple amethyst quartz crystals with glassy faces and several showing internal phantom color zones. The amethyst crystals are doubly-terminated, starting from smaller milky quartz crystals on the bottom. Several crystals are chipped.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 8x7x6 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 8-48 mm.
Price: $150 (plus shipping).
