Minerals Species: Barite on Sphalerite.
Location of mineral deposit: Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith County, Tennessee.
Description: Heavy mass of crystallized translucent brown sphalerite with crystals up to 20 mm. A hemispherical cluster 40 mm across of colorless barite crystals is perched on one side. Two sides are sawn flat making this a good bookend. No damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 15x12x10 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 3-20 mm.
Price: $85 (plus shipping).
