Minerals Species: Mawsonite var. Feuermineral* in Bornite and Chalcocite.
Location of mineral deposit: Tsumeb Mine, Otavi-Bergland District, Oshikoto, Namibia. (*From the TYPE LOCALITY where this variety was first described.) Click here to see other minerals from Type localities.
Description: Microscopic metallic germanium-rich mawsonite included in bornite-chalcocite matrix. Germanium-rich mawsonite was once identified as Feuermineral, but was clarified in 1978. The specimen is mounted in a Euro-style acrylic display box for easy handling.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 6x6x4 mm.
Size of individual crystals: micro.
