Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 39042:

Minerals Species: Barite with Calcite and Chalcopyrite.
Location of mineral deposit: Minerva #1 Mine, Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois.
Description: Lustrous translucent white bladed barite crystals to 18 mm with scattered transparent pale-yellow calcite crystals to 1 mm. Small metallic chalcopyrite crystals to 1.5 mm are scattered throughout. Barite is uncommon in the Illinois fluorite mines. No damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 8x5x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 0.5-18.0 mm.
