Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 39349:

Minerals Species: Barite.
Location of mineral deposit: Portway Gravel Pit, Castleton, Derbyshire, England.
Description: Layered formation of successive barite growth. The first growth are bladed pale-blue barite crystals up to 30 mm high with overgrowth of later botryoidal limonite-stained white barite. All crystals are complete and undamaged, except the outer edges where it was attached to surrounding matrix. Ex. Steve Chamberlain collection #4515, collected in 1981.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 8x7x6 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 5-30 mm.
Price: $35 (plus shipping).
