Minerals Species: Calcite.
Location of mineral deposit: Stoneco Auglaize Quarry, Junction, Paulding County, Ohio.
Description: Translucent-to-transparent yellow calcite crystal with fragments of limestone matrix included on the rear. The calcite crystal has an unusual habit that is most scalenohedral but the faces curve into rhombohedral shape at the termination. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification. Ex. Steve Chamberlain collection #6950; originally acquired in 1986 from H. Precht.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 5.5x3x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 5.5 cm.
Price: $36 (plus shipping).
