Minerals Species: Galena with Sphalerite.
Location of mineral deposit: Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois.
Description: Metallic gray galena crystal with cubic crystal form and one corner exhibiting an octahedral face (not a cleavage). Gemmy red-brown sphalerite crystals are scattered over the faces of the galena. One face the sphalerite is exceptionally beautiful. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 28x23x18 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-19 mm.
Price: $28 (plus shipping).
