Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 39801:

Minerals Species: Quartz and Chalcopyrite with Covellite coating.
Location of mineral deposit: Ellenville Zinc Co. Mine, Ellenville, Ulster County, New York.
Description: Slender water-clear colorless quartz crystals up to 20 mm long covering all sides of the cluster with two chalcopyrite crystals 6 mm across nestled among the quartz crystals. The chalcopyrite crystals have a dark coating of covellite on the surface. All crystals are complete and undamaged, except the outer edges where it was attached to surrounding matrix. Ex. Overall size of mineral specimen: 7x6x5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 4-20 mm.
