Minerals Species: Elbaite var. Watermelon Tourmaline.
Location of mineral deposit: Paprok, Kunar, Afghanistan.
Description: Large single crystal of translucent bi-colored elbaite tourmaline. These are called watermelon tourmalines because they have a green outer zone with pink core. From the side the pink looks slightly brownish because you are viewing through the green rind. The crystal faces are clean and in good condition, the outer edges show minor wear.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 5.5x3x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 55 mm.
Price: $1850 net (plus shipping).
