Minerals Species: Manganite* with Barite and Quartz. (*From the TYPE LOCALITY where this mineral was first described.)
Location of mineral deposit: Ilfeld, Nordhausen, Harz Mountains, Thuringia, Germany.
Description: Lustrous dark metallic manganite crystals up to 7 mm long with one area intergrown with translucent white barite plus minor quartz on the bottom. The manganite crystals are striated, prismatic form with flat, pinacoid terminations. No damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 5x3x2.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-7 mm.
