Minerals Species: Zoisite var. Tanzanite*. (*From the TYPE LOCALITY where this mineral was first described.)
Location of mineral deposit: Merelani Hills, near Arusha, Tanzania.
Description: Single 11.75 carat crystal of blue-violet tanzanite with no matrix attached. The crystal is terminated is quite transparent. Shows excellent color change when viewed from front (blue) and side (violet). One rear edge is scuffed.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 17x9x9 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 17 mm.
Price: $800 net (plus shipping).
