Minerals Species: Zoisite var. Tanzanite*. (*From the TYPE LOCALITY where this mineral was first described.)
Location of mineral deposit: Merelani Hills, near Arusha, Tanzania.
Description: Blocky 23.19 carat crystal of gem-grade blue-violet tanzanite with only a single flaw in the center (two large gemstones could be cut from either side of the flaw) showing excellent color change when viewed from front (blue) and side (violet). No damage to the crystals on the front of the specimen, but the rear shows minor damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 17x12x11 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 17 mm.
Price: $1200 net (plus shipping).
