Minerals Species: Clinochlore with Chondrodite.
Location of mineral deposit: Tilly Foster Iron Mine, Putnam County, New York.
Description: Large platy green mica-like clinochlore crystals up to 19 mm across with brown chondrodite crystals up to 5 mm. Clinochlore is a sought-after mineral from this famous mine that closed in 1895 after a huge landslide collapsed into the open pit. The crystal faces are clean and in good condition, the outer edges show minor wear.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 6x6x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-19 mm.
Price: $250 (plus shipping).
