Minerals Species: Hausmannite.
Location of mineral deposit: Ilfeld, Nordhausen, Harz Mountains, Germany. (*From the TYPE LOCALITY where this mineral was first described.)
Description: Black hausmannite crystals lining shallow cavities in massive hausmannite matrix. The hausmannite crystals are mostly the classic pseudo-octahedral form. Remnants of soft putty from an old base are on the bottom. All crystals are complete and undamaged, except the outer edges where it was attached to surrounding matrix.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 5.5x4x2 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-5 mm.
Price: $85 (plus shipping).
