Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 41231:

Minerals Species: Augite var. Jeffersonite.
Location of mineral deposit: Noble Pit, Sterling Hill, Ogdensburg, Sussex County, New Jersey.
Description: Doubly-terminated brown augite crystal fully crystallized on all surfaces, one of the many augite specimens found in 1994-5 in the mud zone at the Noble Pit. Note the parallel indentations where it was intergrown with calcite, now dissolved away. No damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 5x4x2.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 3-50 mm.
Price: $45 (plus shipping).
