Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 41248:

Minerals Species: Quartz var. Smoky-Amethyst.
Location of mineral deposit: Eastman Quarry, Intergalactic Pit, Millennium Pocket, Deer Hill, Stow, Oxford County, Maine.
Description: Doubly-terminated group of parallel quartz crystals with dark-smoky to pale-purple amethyst color internally and glassy crystal faces. The quartz cluster is fully crystallized front and rear and has few albite inclusions that were common to the locality. Though the crystals are clean and in good condition, a few show damage upon close inspection, but they are minor compared to the relative size of the specimen. Collected May-June 2000.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 8x6x4 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-5 cm.
Price: $45 (plus shipping).
