Minerals Species: Cassiterite (twinned crystals).
Location of mineral deposit: Emmons Quarry, Greenwood, Oxford County, Maine.
Description: Complex cluster of highly lustrous black cassiterite crystals fully crystallized all around showing repeated twinning throughout. Looks beautiful under magnification. Cassiterite, an oxide mineral, is rare in the pegmatites of Maine. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 11x7x7 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-7 mm.
Price: $50 (plus shipping).
