Minerals Species: Quartz var. Amethyst.
Location of mineral deposit: Deer Hill, Stow, Oxford County, Maine.
Description: Hard to photograph amethyst quartz crystal with multiple-point termination and color varying from medium purple to gray with white subsurface albite inclusions in areas. Must be seen in person to be appreciated. This is from the early workings. The crystal faces are clean and in good condition, the outer edges show minor wear. Collected ca. 1960.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 6x5x5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 6 cm.
Price: $25 (plus shipping).
