Minerals Species: Calcite on Pyrite.
Location of mineral deposit: I-80 Quarry, East Moline, Rock Island County, Illinois.
Description: Concave crust of 2-3 mm metallic pyrite crystals lined on the inside face with transparent yellow rhombohedral calcite crystals up to 13 mm across. All crystals are complete and undamaged, except the outer edges where it was attached to surrounding matrix. Ex. Prof. Blocher.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 6.5x5x2 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-13 mm.
Price: $85 (plus shipping).
