Minerals Species: Hematite, Quartz, Calcite.
Location of mineral deposit: Big Bertha Extension Mine, La Paz County, Arizona.
Description: Specular metallic hematite crystals to 4 mm across with milky quartz crystals to 2 mm and scalenohedral brown calcite microcrystals. Though all crystals appear in good condition, upon close inspection, a few crystal terminations appear to be cleaved. Ex. Chas. W. Velte Jr. (1914-1987); collected by D. Shannon April 1976.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 4.5x3.5x3.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: micro to 4 mm.
