Minerals Species: Almandine-Spessartine Garnet.
Location of mineral deposit: Avondale, Ridley Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
Description: Large complex crystal of translucent wine-red spessartine-almandine garnet frozen in quartz matrix with old museum display label. Exact composition must be tested to determine exact garnet species. These garnets are highly sought by local collectors. No damage. Old museum label no. 7169, donated by Lewis Palmer (1837-1872)..
Overall size of mineral specimen: 9x6x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 12-40 mm.
Price: $550 net (plus shipping).
