Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 49516:

Minerals Species: Vesuvianite.
Location of mineral deposit: Goodall Farm Quarry, 600 meter Prospect, Sanford, York County, Maine.
Description: Single crystal of green-brown vesuvianite with flat basal pinacoid termination modified by edge faces. The vesuvianite crystal intersected adjacent, parallel vesuvianite crystals on the rear resulting in irregular shape. Glued restoration in center. The specimen was extracted from solid rock, not from a cavity, resulting in minor surface imperfections where the surrounding matrix was removed. From my personal collection.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 38x16x16 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 38 mm.
Price: $30 (plus shipping).
