Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 49839:

Minerals Species: Pyrite with Talc.
Location of mineral deposit: ZCA Pierrepont Mine, Grange Ore Body, Pierrepont, St. Lawrence County, New York.
Description: Lustrous yellow-metallic cubic pyrite crystals intermixed with greenish talc matrix. The pyrite crystals are all in parallel orientation indicating they might all be interconnected. The specimen was extracted from solid rock, not from a cavity, resulting in minor surface imperfections where the surrounding matrix was removed.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 3x3x2.2 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 1-15 mm.
