Minerals Species: Hematite with Calcite.
Location of mineral deposit: Wessels Mine, Kalahari manganese fields, Northern Cape Province, South Africa.
Description: Lustrous metallic hematite crystals to 20 mm with rhombohedral translucent colorless calcite. Most hematite crystal faces have mirror-like luster, other faces are slightly textured with parallel crystallization patterns. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, minute edge chipping is visible under 20x magnification. Ex. George Elling; ex.Charlie Key collection.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 3x2.5x2 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 0.5-20.0 mm.
Price: $95 (plus shipping).
