Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 50772:

Minerals Species: Calcite.
Location of mineral deposit: St. Andreasberg, Harz Mountains, Lower Saxony, Germany.
Description: Elongated hexagonal calcite crystal with rhombohedral termination faces (nailhead habit). The calcite is translucent with internal yellow zoning when viewed down the C-axis. Note the parallel rhombohedral faces forming complex patterns on the prism faces All surfaces and edges are clean and undamaged, except for a natural contact from another intersecting crystal (no longer present). Ex. Peter B. Nalle (1923-2010) collection, originally acquired from A. Guest.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 4.5x2.5x2.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 45 mm
Price: $20 (plus shipping).
