Minerals Species: Cinnabar (penetration twin) on Quartz-rich matrix.
Location of mineral deposit: Red Bird Mine, Antelope Springs District, 15 miles east of Lovelock, Pershing County, Nevada.
Description: Large striated translucent blood-red twinned cinnabar crystals on brown matrix. The cinnabar crystals are interpenetrant-twinned (two crystals with common C-axes, rotated 180° from each other). No damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 7x4x3.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 17 mm.
Price: $475 net (plus shipping).
