Minerals Species: Corundum var. Sapphire.
Location of mineral deposit: Uva Province, Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon).
Description: Large doubly-terminated translucent colorless sapphire crystal, the gem variety of the mineral species corundum, with striated prism faces and minor limonite stains in areas. The sapphire crystal edges are sharp. No damage.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 30x8x4 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 30 mm.
Price: $125 (plus shipping).
