Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 55050:

Minerals Species: Celestine with Sulfur.
Location of mineral deposit: Agrigento District (Girgenti), Sicily, Italy.
Description: Lustrous prismatic translucent colorless celestine (celestite) crystals on gray matrix with minor yellow sulfur. The celestine crystals fluoresce white under UV illumination and phosphoresce when illumination is extinguished. Most crystals are complete and undamaged, but a few crystals have chipped terminations. All of the main crystals are complete and undamaged, but a lesser crystal is incomplete where it contacted surrounding matrix. Ex. Wards Earth Science Establishment.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 7x5.5x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 0.5-15.0 mm
Price: $42 (plus shipping).
