Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 55425:

Minerals Species: Barite with Quartz.
Location of mineral deposit: Central Connecticut State University Campus, New Britain, Middlesex County, Connecticut.
Description: Bladed translucent white barite crystals to13 mm with brown limonite on select surfaces and small transparent colorless quartz crystals to 1 mm in crevices. The specimen formed in a cavity with many crystals intersecting in all directions. Most crystals are complete except in areas where they intersected adjacent crystals in the cavity.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 4.5x3x2.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: micro to 13 mm.
Price: $36 (plus shipping).
