Minerals Species: Fluorite (interpenetrant-twinned crystals).
Location of mineral deposit: Heights Mine, Westgate, Weardale District, County Durham, England.
Description: Lustrous transparent pale-purple cubic fluorite crystals to 13 mm with scattered colorless quartz crystals to 1 mm. The fluorite crystals are interpenetrant-twinned and fluoresce violet under SW UV illumination. Most of the crystals are complete and undamaged, but a few around the periphery are incomplete.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 9.5x6.5x5.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 2-13 mm
Price: $85 (plus shipping).
