Minerals Species: Diamond (0.28 carat polished slice with sector-zoned inclusions).
Location of mineral deposit: Zimbabwe.
Description: Thin slice of a transparent natural diamond crystal that was polished on both sides to highlight the internal crystal sector zoning. The diamond sector zoning is caused by graphite-coated disk-crack-like defects. See upcoming Rocks and Minerals, March-April 2014 issue..
