Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 65290:

Minerals Species: Fluorite with minor Calcite.
Location of mineral deposit: Minerva #1 Mine, Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois.
Description: Lustrous transparent-to-translucent yellow-brown cubic fluorite crystals to 44 mm with colorless calcite microcrystals on select faces. The largest fluorite crystal has a purple outer zone and the crystal surfaces are composed of smaller parallel faces. The specimen formed in a cavity with many crystals intersecting in all directions. Most crystals are complete except in areas where they intersected adjacent crystals in the cavity. Ex. D. Miller collection #M137. Collected ca. 1985.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 7.5x6x3.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: micro to 44 mm
