Detailed information on mineral specimen No. 70602:

Minerals Species: Strontianite pseudomorphs after Celestine.
Location of mineral deposit: Maumee Stone Quarry, Lime City, Wood County, Ohio.
Description: Translucent white strontianite pseudomorphs after blue celestine (celestite) crystals with some celestine remaining in the cores. The celestine crystallized first, then altered to white strontianite, maintaining the original shape of the celestine. The specimen formed in a cavity with many crystals intersecting in all directions. Most crystals are complete except in areas where they intersected adjacent crystals in the cavity. Collected ca. 1990.
Overall size of mineral specimen: 22x21x15 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 13-17 mm
