Mineral Species: Beryl var. Aquamarine in Albite. Location of mineral deposit: Skardu District, Baltistan, Gilgit-Baltistan (Northern Areas), Pakistan. Description: Lustrous transparent aquamarine crystal, the blue-green gem variety of beryl, exposed on one side of white albite. The aquamarine crystal is hexagonal form with basal pinacoid termination modified with pyramidal edge and corner faces. One crystal edge has a small chip, but all crystal faces are clean and undamaged. Collected ca. 1990. Overall size of mineral specimen: 4x3.5x3.5 cm.
