Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 77027:

Mineral Species: Topaz.
Location of origin: Topaz Mountain, Thomas Range, Juab County, Utah.
Description: Lustrous transparent pale sherry-colored topaz crystal with a platy black inclusion of ilmenite or hematite (testing is required to determine species, both have similar appearance) and remnants of gray rhyolite on the bottom where it was attached. No damage. Collected ca. 1980. All sherry-colored topaz crystals fade under UV-rich illumination (i.e. direct sunlight, fluorescent lights). This specimen should be illuminated with incandescent, or halogen, or LED lights, or stored in UV-blocking display boxes.
Overall size: 18x10x6 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 2-18 mm
Price: $35 (plus shipping).
