Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 78781:

Mineral Species: Dolomite pseudomorphs after Aragonite.
Location of origin: Cottonwood Draw, 66 km NNE of Roswell, Chaves County, New Mexico.
Description: Unusually large (for this remote locality) gray dolomite pseudomorphs after pseudohexagonal aragonite crystals to 65 mm (!). The pseudomorphs form a six-pointed star and are complete on all surfaces with no attachment point. No damage. Collected ca. 1990. See article: What's New in Minerals in Mineralogical Record v.22 #5 (Sept.-Oct. 1991).
Overall size: 65x55x40 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 5-65 mm
