| Mineral Species: Wulfenite var. Red Wulfenite. Location of origin: Jianshan Mine, Kuruktag Mountains, 300 km southeast of Ürümqi, Shanshan County, Xinjiang Uygur Region, China. Description: Lustrous transparent vivid-red wulfenite crystals on brown matrix. The wulfenite crystals are square bladed form, with beveled edge faces. The red color of these wulfenite crystals is quite remarkable, especially under full-spectrum illumination. Though the crystals are clean and in good condition, a few show damage upon close inspection, but they are minor compared to the relative size of the specimen. Ex. Miller #M2847; ex.
