Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 81250:

Mineral Species: Dioptase on Calcite.
Location of origin: Christmas Mine, Banner District, Gila County, Arizona.
Description: Old-time specimen of lustrous transparent green dioptase crystals to 1 mm with transparent colorless scalenohedral calcite crystals to 9 mm. Under magnification distinct transparent dioptase crystals are visible throughout. The crystals grew in a constricted cavity preventing complete crystal development. Most visible crystals are complete and undamaged except a few places where they contacted the cavity wall.
Overall size: 7x5x3.5 cm.
Size of individual crystals: micro to 9 mm
Price: $225 (plus shipping).
