Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 81501:

Mineral Species: Grossular Garnet and Calcite (floater cluster crystallized on all sides).
Location of origin: Handan, Hebei, China.
Description: Lustrous transparent yellow grossular garnet crystals to 20 mm, in a floater formation crystallized all around, with transparent colorless calcite crystals to 34 mm. The grossular garnet crystals are dodecahedral with trapezohedral edge faces. Though the crystals are clean and in good condition, a few show damage upon close inspection, but they are minor compared to the relative size of the specimen. The calcite fluoresces under longwave and shortwave UV. Collected ca. 2008.
Overall size: 9.5x6.5x6 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 3-34 mm
Price: $495 net (plus shipping).
