| Mineral Species: Bournonite (doubly terminated complexly twinned
crystals). Location of origin: Yaogangxian Mine, 32 km southeast of Chenzhou, Hunan, China. Description: Large doubly terminated complexly-twinned lustrous silver-metallic bournonite crystals fully crystallized on all faces except one corner where they were attached. The bournonite crystals have striated prism faces with complex parallel termination faces. Complete and undamaged except the contact where it was formerly attached to surrounding matrix. Bournonite, PbCuSbS3, is an uncommon lead-copper sulfosalt mineral. Weight: 29.1 grams. Reference: Mineralogical Record v.42#6, Rocks and Minerals v.80#1. Overall size: 26x22x16 mm.
