Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 81644:

Mineral Species: Spinel.
Location of origin: Mahenge, Morogoro Region, Tanzania.
Description: Lustrous translucent red-to-pink spinel crystals in white-gray marble. The spinel crystals are octahedral form, with flat crystal faces that have mottled texture in areas where it crystallized simultaneously with the surrounding marble. No damage. The spinel fluoresces bright red under LW UV illumination.
Overall size: 12x11x10 mm.
Size of individual crystals: 3.5-9.0 mm
Price: $65 (plus shipping).
