| Mineral Species: Pyrite with minor Calcite. Location of origin: Bull's Ferry Road condominium construction site, North Bergen, Hudson County, New Jersey. Description: Classic NJ large specimen of many lustrous yellow-metallic pyrite crystals that were exposed by dissolving the enclosing calcite (some calcite remains). The pyrite crystals are cubo-octahedral form. The cluster isplays well horizontally or vertically. The specimen formed in a cavity with many crystals intersecting in all directions. Most crystals are complete except in areas where they intersected adjacent crystals in the cavity. From my personal collection; collected by Bob Neukum in 1990. Overall size: 15x7x7 cm.
