Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 81665:

Mineral Species: Quartz var. Smoky Quartz.
Location of origin: North Moat Mountain, Bartlett, Carroll County, New Hampshire.
Description: Many lustrous transparent gray smoky quartz crystals in groups of parallel crystals with minor white albite in crevices on the rear. The smoky quartz crystals on the rear have a waxy luster where pocket solutions etched the quartz. No damage is visible to the unaided eye, but minor damage is visible under 20x magnification. From my personal collection; collected ca. 1984.
Overall size: 5x4.5x3 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 4-50 mm
Price: $25 (plus shipping).
