Description of Mineral Specimen for sale No. 81683:

Mineral Species: Prehnite.
Location of origin: O and G Industries Southbury Quarry, Southbury, New Haven County, Connecticut.
Description: Lustrous transparent green prehnite crystals, in spherical aggregates to 5 mm diameter, with distinct crystal faces on the surfaces, completely covering one face of gray basalt. The prehnite crystal formations have sparkling surface luster. Most of the crystals are complete and undamaged, but a few around the periphery are incomplete. Collected ca. 1995.
Overall size: 4.5x2.5x1 cm.
Size of individual crystals: 0.5-2.0 mm
Price: $26 (plus shipping).
