| Mineral Species: Hematite var. Iron Rose. Location of origin: Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Description: Classic Iron Rose formation of platy hexagonal gray-metallic hematite crystals in a cluster resembling a rose. Both front and rear are complete and the edges are in good condition, with small depressions where another included mineral dissolved away. Though the crystals are clean and in good condition, a few show damage upon close inspection, but they are minor compared to the relative size of the specimen. Ex.
